Making a great mark this year, the College of Information Technology Education (CITE), together with the Computer Science Society (CSS), lauded athletes and cosplayers during the three-day CITE Festival Komsayahan 2026 culminating with the theme ‘Cyberpunk’ at the PHINMA University of Pangasinan Gymnasium on October 10, gathering students from UPang Main and Urdaneta.

“Because only you are able to collaborate, enrich creativity, exercise empathy, and display leadership. Those are the qualities that make you irreplaceable.” stated by Chief Operating Officer, Engr. Lyndon G. Padama.

CITE Komsayahan continued the last day with their pre-program, introducing CITE Student Council, CSS of UPang U and their Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) System Developers Alliance, Computer Security Guild, Data Science Society, and Digital Arts Society.

“This is also a reminder that IT is also fun and fulfilling for us.” said CITE Dean Aristotle B. Liwanag, reminding students to not just focus on academics but also enjoy the day of the college festival.

Dean Liwanag ended his speech by thanking the guest speaker who attended despite the event being held during the weekend.

“I hope we can see this day in three things that you need to work on.” stated Sir Adele Traspe, Center for Student Development and Leadership Director, emphasizing the celebration of everyone for surviving the P1 and P2 examinations.

Sir Traspe ended his speech remarking the second and third year students to always look forward and be inspired by their seniors in the department.

Video presentation was prepared by the CITE Student Council and their RSOs to give tribute and inspiration to the students and to make the culminating day more engageable following the cut scenes with a live performance of Life’s Sound Society and The New Tone.

Moreover, Mr. JM Lopez delivered a motivational speech during the Alumni talk, reminiscing the days he spent during his college journey and thanking the faculty members who helped him shape who he was today.

“Matutunan at matutunan niyo rin ang gusto niyo sa buhay basta huwag na huwag kayong titigil.” Mr. Lopez ended his speech with a reminder to all CITE students.

Awarding of the winners during the CITE Festival then occurred highlighting the sportsmanship they have shown and honoring their achievements.
