Versoza secures back-to-back National MESCON Chess Championship

Frances Noel Versoza, Mechanical Engineering student from College of Engineering and Architecture, clinched his second consecutive National Mechanical Engineering Student Conference (MESCON) Chess Championship on September 22, 2025, at The Tent at Villar City in Las Piñas, Metro Manila, during the 5th MESCON.

Versoza secured the championship in the chess category, continuing his winning streak in the national competition held under the theme, “PSIM: Leadership with Integrity and Stability Geared Toward Membership Welfare Development, Professional Growth, and Motivation for Global Competence.”

Meanwhile, Ranea Bontrivida, Glen Onswald Rosaio, and Alwalid Ekkawi placed 10th out of 17 participating universities in the MEtalino category.

Ralph James Miranda also represented PHINMA University of Pangasinan in the On-the-Spot Photography Contest.
