408 blood units collected during 54th Medical Technology Week

PHINMA-University of Pangasinan Medical Technology Student Association (UPMETSA) spearheaded a blood donation drive on September 16, 2026, at the FQD Hall, 2nd Floor of Region 1 Medical Center, as part of the 54th Medical Technology Week.

Initiative, conducted in partnership with the Region 1 Medical Center–National Voluntary Blood Services Program and the Philippine Association of Medical Technologists Pangasinan Chapter, gathered a total of 408 blood units from voluntary donors.

Blood donation drive aimed to help maintain an adequate blood supply for patients requiring blood transfusions, while encouraging students and members of the community to take part in voluntary blood donation.

Through the activity, UPMETSA, together with its partner organizations and donors, highlighted the role of medical technology students in promoting health-related initiatives and community service.

Blood drive formed part of the activities for the 54th Medical Technology Week, bringing together students, healthcare institutions, organizations, and voluntary donors in support of patients in need.
