CELA Titans illuminate way forward at One CELAbration

College of Education and Liberal Arts (CELA) gathered its Titans for the One CELAbration Assembly on September 14 and 15, 2026 at the Audio-Visual Room, bringing together its different programs in a two-day celebration anchored on the theme, “Lighting the Way Forward: Illuminating the Titans’ Journey of Becoming.”

CELA Dean Dr. Cherry B. Calaunan delivered a message centered on the students’ journey of becoming, reminding the Titans not to be pressured by what others have achieved but to focus on becoming the person they want to be.

“Because today is not only about celebrating CELA, today is about celebrating you,” Dr. Calaunan said.

Center for Student Development and Leadership services led by Ms. Jolina Gamboa, Student Activities and Making the Lives of Others’ Better Coordinator, informed students on the services and opportunities available to them.

CELA faculty members were next introduced, followed by the presentation of the college’s Registered Student Organizations, namely Association of Political Science Students, Society of English Writers and Speakers, University of Pangasinan Association of General Education Students (UPAGES), University of Pangasinan Student-Teachers Organization (UPSTO), and Network of student educators for Excellence in Understanding S.T.E.M.

Dr. Joseph V. Jovellanos, Assistant Dean of CELA, discussed important provisions of the Student Handbook, highlighting information students need to know to help ensure a smoother college journey.

Ms. Charmee Rae P. Velasco, Program Head of BEEd, tackled the academic requirements for Education and AB Programs.

CELA Ambassadors and Ambassadresses presented a parade of uniforms, featuring the prescribed uniforms through a performance.

Following the parade, Resolution No. 001, Series of 2026–2027, concerning the Uniform Policy, was discussed by Airenz John N. Evangelista, Liberal Arts Representative of CELA Student Council (CELASC).

Discussion was then followed by an open forum led by Dr. Jovellanos and Dr. Calaunan, allowing students to raise questions and clarify concerns regarding the policy.

Ms. Jasmine M. Aquino, Governor of CELASC, presented the calendar of events and accomplishment report as of September 2026, followed by the presentation of the master calendars of activities by the presidents of UPSTO and UPAGES, highlighting the programs and engagements prepared by the organizations.

Through the One CELAbration Assembly, CELA reminded its Titans that the journey forward is not about becoming someone else, but about believing in oneself, continuing to move forward, and becoming the person one aspires to be.
