With the upcoming State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Bongbong Marcos, Kabataan Partylist Pangasinan, Anakbayan Pangasinan, Pangasinan People’s Strike for the Environment (PPSE), and Anakdagat Dagupan, united during the State of the Pangasinan People’s Address (SOPPA) held on July 25, 2026, at Metro Plaza, Dagupan City, defending the future of Pangasinenses.
“The struggle for Pangasinan is a struggle for the people. Let us call on every barangay, every town, every village, and the entire Philippines to stand up for our rights and not just for Pangasinan, that our livelihoods should not be affected.” said Ms. Det Tuaz, PPSE spokesperson.
Four spokespersons confronted local crises throughout the SOPPA involving Mr. Riki Nunez from Kabataan Partylist Pangasinan, Mr. Kobe Singlao from Anakbayan Pangasinan, Ms. Det Tuaz from PPSE, and Mr. Aki Lagera from Anakdagat Dagupan.
“Our goal is to shape new youth who will become true leaders and representatives of the youth through leadership training, etc.” stated Mr. Nunez in an interview.
The spokespersons addressed community issues representing the following sectors: coastal and inland fisherfolks, farmers groups, agricultural advocates, peasant leaders, ecological advocates, community-based environmental defenders from the province, student leaders, youth advocates, and academic representatives.
Kabataan Partylist Pangasinan brought forward the call to oppose the worsening colonial, commercialized, and repressive education that every youth in Pangasinan experiences.
Kabataan Partylist, together with other progressive organizations, youth groups, and student councils, gathered for the SOPPA.
The fifth SONA of President Bongbong Marcos is scheduled for Monday, July 27.
