Driven by purpose, Society of English Writers and Speakers (SEWS) shined brighter as they gathered Bachelor of Secondary Education-English upperclassmen for its General Assembly on September 8, 2026, at the University Audiovisual Room, marking a new academic year full of wit, ethics, and creativity.
With the theme “Curiouser and Curiouser: Venturing into the world of witans,” the organization united its members for orientation, academic briefing, and to formally introduce this year's new set of officers, block mayors and faculty advisers.
“May we venture, take risks into the world where wit, ethics, and creativity are honed and defined, transforming ourselves into becoming an educator we aspire to be, and igniting the spark to the future minds to be curiouser and curiouser,” Incoming President Clark Jersey D. Delos Reyes in his opening remarks.
Following a smooth transition, Outgoing President Rain Erika Q. Aquino presents her accomplishment report before the formal turnover ceremony to Incoming President Delos Reyes and his officers.
After an entertaining icebreaker, the calendar of activities was presented by President Delos Reyes followed by the introduction of officer and faculty and Witan oath-taking led by Mr. Dwayne Catadman, SEWS Public Information Officer.
Ms. Aquino spearheaded the orientation, discussing about the curricula, computation of general weighted average (GWA), and latin honors followed by Ms. Juliana Velasco, Second-year representative, explaining the qualifications for academic achievements.
Witans took part in helpful discussions on the proper uniform policy and presentation of offenses led by Mr. JR Tino, Peace officer.
From start to finish, SEWS Witans stayed true to its goal: to lift up every aspiring English educator, and build a space where everyone grows together not just as learners but also leaders and educators they are becoming.
