Daluyon Leadcamp 2026 launches; SLs prepare for A.Y. ’26–’27

Preceding the university-wide Daluyon Leadership Camp and igniting the spirit of service, student leaders (SLs) from local student councils, registered student organizations, and university-wide organizations came together for day 1 at the University Gymnasium, May 11, 2026.

Kickstarting the event, the Supreme Student Council, in partnership with Centrum Fuel, turned over in-kind donations and fuel subsidies to the transportation sector through its “Para’d Sika” Outreach Program.

During the Completion and Success and School Priorities segment, Ms. Catherine R. Garcia, PHINMA University of Pangasinan Chief Operating Officer (COO), reiterated the university’s central mission of making lives better.

COO Garcia emphasized that every family should have someone who supports and upholds it, underscoring the university’s role in shaping individuals who contribute meaningfully to society.

“Our family is a nation builder—it helps and contributes to society,” COO Garcia said, as she also presented data on students who studied, graduated, and secured employment within one year after graduation, highlighting the university’s focus on student success and employability.

Subsequently, Mr. Adele S. Traspe, Director of the Center for Student Development and Leadership (CSDL), introduced new frameworks, terms, and agreements for the student leaders for the upcoming academic year.

Emphasizing the importance of academics and time management, Mr. Adele announced the implementation of academic silence, which will suspend all student activities one week before and during examinations to allow students to focus on their academic requirements.

Concluding the morning session, college deans, SOG heads, ACOO, COO, and incumbent leaders proceeded with the Pagbabasbas for the new and incoming officers for a bright, integrity-driven, and productive term ahead.

In the afternoon session, Ms. Ma. Carmela M. De Perio, CSDL Student Formation Unit Manager, reemphasized the university's core mission, the Making Lives of Others Better Module, instilling in the SL's mind and heart the essence of pakikipagkapwa.

"Your leadership position may open opportunities, but your character sustains your relevance and influence," Traspe stressed during Director's Hour.

Mr. Adele further stated that leadership is more than titles, popularity, or recognition; it is about responsibility. He also urged SLs to organize collaborative events and programs to maximize available funds, especially for organizations with limited budgets.

Wrapping up the first day, all organizations and departments underwent breakout sessions to discuss evaluation reports and future plans for the academic year ahead.

Daluyon Leadcamp 2026 Days 2, 3, and 4 will commence on May 21, 22, and 23, where SLs are set to gain more knowledge, hone their leadership skills, and build trust and camaraderie within their teams and among other organizations.
